Haralambi Markov

Haralambi Markov is a Bulgarian fiction writer, reviewer & editor with a background in content creation and SEO, who currently operates as a freelance writer. He was the first ever Bulgarian to be accepted to attend the Clarion Writers’ Workshop in 2014. His fiction blends speculative genres and literary ​writing, but always returns to myths and folklore as well as the weird tradition. His short story “The Language of Knives” was long-listed for the Nebula award for Best Short Story. His work has appeared in TOR.com, Uncanny Magazine, Weird Fiction Review, Apex Book of SF and Stories for Chip – tribute anthology to Samuel Delany.

Markov functioned as the submissions’ editor for the successful horror podcast Tales to Terrify for 42 consecutive shows and co-edited the volume of best stories Tales to Terrify, Volume 1 with Tony C. Smith and Lawrence Santoro that came out in 2012. His reviews and literary profiles have appeared on TOR.com and SF Signal.
