Sascha Stronach

Sascha Stronach is a novelist and editor based in Pōneke, New Zealand. He is of  Greek, Ngāi Tahu Māori and Scottish ancestry.  His first novel, The Dawnhounds, won the 2020 Sir Julius Vogel Award for Best Novel and won him the SJV for Best New Talent.

The Dawnhounds is "a subversive queer sci-fi neo-noir", "somewhere between Ambergris and Ankh-Morpork", and "the one about gay warlocks fighting against the cops with mushroom magic."

In Sascha's spare time he writes about computers, runs a small press, and occasionally finds the time to roll dice to see whether his wizard cast a spell.
